Members of SDRG\u2019s Center for Communities that Care<\/a> participated in the European Society for Prevention Research\u2019s annual meeting<\/a> in Cremona, Italy, during the week of September 9, 2024. The conference theme was \u201cPrevention In and With Communities,\u201d a perfect fit for the work of Communities That Care (CTC). <\/p>\n

Dr. Margaret Kuklinski<\/a> and Dr. Nicole Eisenberg<\/a> from the Center attended the conference,
where CTC was featured in several sessions<\/p>\n

The Center partnered with teams from Australia, Estonia, Germany, and Sweden to host a preconference workshop, \u201cGetting Started with Communities that Care (CTC): An Interactive Orientation to the Framework’s Foundations And Key Elements For Implementation.\u201d The session was attended by participants from Brazil, France, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the presenting teams\u2019 countries.<\/p>\n

Dr. Eisenberg chaired a symposium, “Monitoring the Implementation of Communities That Care (CTC) Using Assessment Tools that Provide Feedback and Foster Community Learning,” featuring the work of CTC teams from Sweden (focusing on the Milestones & Benchmarks), Chile (focusing on the Community Board Interview), and Germany (focusing on the CTC Youth Survey). Dr. Kuklinski chaired a Campfire discussion, \u201cNext Steps for Communities that Care: Developing a Cross-National Research and Action Agenda,\u201d in collaboration with Dr. John Toumbourou (Australia) and Frederick Groeger-Roth (Germany).<\/p>\n

CTC was also featured in other conference sessions and the conference opening keynote, with presentations from Australia, Brazil, Germany, and Greece. The conference provided an opportunity for many collaborative conversations and an increased interest in exploring the potential of CTC for countries worldwide.
