Strange Coupling blog imageApplications are now being accepted from UW student artists who want to be paired with a Seattle-area working artist to create a collaborative piece. Applicants must also either volunteer at the Strange Coupling fundraising auction, which will be in the Jacob Lawrence Gallery at 7pm on Wednesday, 14 December 2011, OR donate an artwork to the auction. This year’s student artists and the couples will be juried by the Strange Coupling organizers with assistance from Kris Anderson, Director of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery, and Catharina Manchanda, Seattle Art Museum’s Jon and Mary Shirley Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. Some of the working artists will be Julie Alpert (MFA 2008), Tosh Beres, Ryan Feddersen, Troy Gua, Susie Lee (MFA 2006), and Amanda Manitach.
