Clara Wilkins | PI and Lab Director

Dr. Clara L. Wilkins is a social psychologist and Associate Professor at the University of Washington. Before returning to UW, she served as a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis and Wesleyan University. Dr. Wilkins completed her Ph.D. (’11) and M.S. (’09) at the University of Washington. She completed her B.A. with honors at Stanford University (’05).

Dr. Rosemary (Marah) Al-Kire is a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr. Wilkins. Marah researches religious and political identities and ideologies and how they relate to intergroup relations and political decision-making. Marah earned her Ph.D. in Psychology (Social) from Baylor in 2022, an M.A. with distinction (2018), and a B.S. with honors (2015) in Psychological Science from Northern Arizona University.

Chad is a sixth-year PhD candidate working with Dr. Wilkins. He is broadly interested in the attitudes and beliefs that high status groups hold toward members of low status groups. Some of Chad’s early efforts to understand this topic have focused on examining the conflation of religious, political, and social identities and on conflict between social groups where membership in one group is not mutually exclusive with membership in the other.

Arielle is a recent graduate of the University of Washington, with a degree in psychology and statistics. She is a research assistant in the Social Perceptions and Intergroup Attitudes Lab, with previous experience as a research assistant at the College, Alcohol, and Peers Study, also at UW. Arielle is interested in using her analysis skills to support current and future research.

Marushka is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington working towards a bachelor’s of science in psychology. Marushka’s interests lie in both clinical and social psychology research. She is currently a research assistant at the Social Perceptions and Intergroup Attitudes Lab.
