Test of choice: abdominal ultrasound - presence of stones, thickened gallbladder wall, pericholecystic fluid, status of bile ducts.
HIDA radionuclide scan: nonvisualization of gallbladder
CT scan: thickened wall, pericholecystic fluid, air in gallbladder wall
Other tests: amylase, bilirubin, liver enzymes, WBC, chest Xray, EKG
