4.) What diagnostic tests should you order?

Diagnostic tests:


  • Laboratory: WBC, Hgb/Hct, blood cultures, liver function tests


  • Chest X-ray: elevated right hemidiaphragm and blunting of right costophrenic angle


  • Ultrasound: look for hypoechoic mass in liver; note status of common duct


  • CT scan: most accurate study
