4.) What are risk factors for gastric cancer?

Risk factors for gastric cancer:

  • Atrophic gastritis and intestinal metaplasia

  • Helicobacter pylori infection

  • Gastric polyps

  • Menetrier's disease (hypertrophic gastropathy)

  • Pernicious anemia

  • Prior subtotal gastrectomy (more than 15 years)

  • Ingestion of smoked or brined foods
