DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
8.) How would you define volvulus? What parts of the large bowel may be involved?

A volvulus is rotation of a segment of intestine on axis of mesentery. The sigmoid colon is involved in 70% of cases of large bowel volvulus and the cecum in 30%.
