SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
Case #2 -
A 24 year old with a mass in his R thigh

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
3.) What are appropriate ways to determine the pathology?

The pathology can be determined by Tru-cut needle biopsy or by open biopsy. If open biopsy is done, it may be an excisional biopsy for a lesion less than 3 cm in size with complete removal of the lesion. Otherwise the open biopsy is an incisional biopsy.
