SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
Case #2 -
A 24 year old with a mass in his R thigh

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
6.) What other diagnostic workup should be done?

Other diagnostic evaluation indicated in these patients includes a CT scan or MRI scan to assess tumor size, depth, and relation to major neurovascular and skeletal elements. A chest X-ray is needed to detect pulmonary metastases. If the tumor is large or high grade histologically, a CT scan of the chest is indicated.
