PEDIATRIC SURGERY
Case #3 -
A 4 week old male with projectile vomiting

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
6.) What is the operative management of this patient?

An extramucosal pyloromyotomy is done either open or laparoscopically. An incision is made through the serosa longitudinally and into the hypertrophic muscle. Then the muscle is spread, completing its division and allowing the mucosa to bulge out.
