BURNS AND CRITICAL CARE
Case #1 - A 53 year old with burns of her face, neck and extremities |
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: |
9.) If the patient has an inhalation injury, how is that treated?
|
Inhalation injury is treated with pulmonary toilet. Ventilation may also be required. Percussive ventilation allows adequate oxygenation at lower FIO2 and lower mean and peak airway pressures. Also clearance of bronchial secretions is enhanced.
