COLORECTAL DISEASE
Case #8 -
A 55 year old male with 3 months rectal bleeding

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
10.) What are the basic principles involved in radical resection?

A radical resection must include at least 2 cm margin distally. The mesentery of the rectum must be excised sharply (total mesorectal excision) to decrease the risk of local recurrence.
