COLORECTAL DISEASE
Case #8 -
A 55 year old male with 3 months rectal bleeding

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1.) What additional history is needed?

Additional history:

Further history must be obtained regarding bowel habits, pain on defecation, relationship of bleeding to defecation, and appearance and characteristics of the stool. A history should also be obtained regarding symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease or systemic symptoms of malignancy. A family history of colorectal cancer and other cancers is also important.
