5.) What imaging studies should be done?

Imaging studies:
- Doppler ultrasound may be useful in the face of suspected chronic
ischemia as a screening test but not indicated in the acute situation - CT scan may rule out other diagnoses as well as aid in correct
diagnosis. - The arteriogram is definitive but will delay laparotomy in the face of
frank peritonitis. If there is doubt regarding occlusive disease, then this is
indicated and therapy may be instituted for nonocclusive ischemia if
infarction has not yet occurred.
