8.) What is the non-operative management of chronic venous insufficiency?
|
The non-operative management of chronic venous insufficiency centers on elastic compression stockings or devices for life. For more acute problems, paste gauze boots (Unna boots) may be used for compression to speed healing of ulcers. In some patients there is a role for pneumatic compression devices. Various drugs and topical agents have been proposed but their value is inconclusive in the studies.
