China’s FX Peg Is Now Trade Weighted (REER)

The Chinese currency stays firm against the basked, and soft against the dollar. A wonderful way to hide the depreciation against the major trading partner.  Here is the new basket:

 But the the Financial Times cleverly tracks the dollar against the $ and against other currencies (by their definition, a decline in the indes is a weakening of the currency)
