About Ece

Ece Kamar was born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1983 and pursued her education with a strong focus on computer science after discovering her passion for it in college. Moving to the United States at 22 for graduate studies, she completed her Ph.D. at Harvard in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Ece has worked at Microsoft since 2010, contributing to AI research and responsible AI initiatives. Despite her achievements in the U.S., where she's now a partner researcher and area manager at Microsoft Research, Ece maintains a deep connection to Turkey, balancing her Turkish heritage with her American life.
