About Sibel

Sibel grew up in Izmir with her family. After high school, she was accepted to Ege University where she obtained a degree in material engineering and computer programming. She then got a job in Turkey as a computer programmer which is how she met her husband. He had a job in America which is what prompted her to move to Seattle in 1996 after the marriage. With her computer programming experience, Sibel became a website designer and some years later they decided to start a family. She and her family are also avid volunteers at many TACAWA festivals and cultural events including International Children’s Friendship Festival, Turkfest, Seattle Turkish Film Festival, and many more. Although she loves her life in the PNW, she misses Turkey’s ambiance and definitely wants to live there again one day.
