About Funda

Funda Ertunç Ozhan, born on September 30, 1977, in Erzurum, Turkey, and raised in Isparta, pursued her passion for computer science from Bilkent University, graduating in 1999. She ventured to the U.S. for her master's at the University of Maryland, arriving on August 15, 1999. Post-master's, she returned to Turkey, only to move back to the U.S. in 2005 upon marrying her college sweetheart. Settling in Seattle, she embraced life at Microsoft and raising her son in a culturally nuanced Turkish-American household. Despite challenges in adapting to a new country and the struggle of her spouse finding employment in her field, Funda cherishes her bicultural family life, contributing significantly to the tech world while maintaining connections to her Turkish roots, without plans to relocate back to Turkey.
