About Serdar

Serdar grew up in İstanbul and studied computer engineering at Boğaziçi University. He attended İstanbul Technical University for his Master’s and after getting married in 1997 he came to the U.S. with his wife. They have lived in Michigan, New York, and New Jersey and have been in Seattle since 2006 when Serdar transferred for his job at Microsoft. He has participated in activities in the Turkish American community, such as Turkfest, and speaks Turkish at home. He also teaches Turkish folk dancing to Turkish American children. He visits Turkey often but loves his home in Seattle and appreciates the support he has received from the Turkish American community.
