About Murat

Murat Tanyeri, born in 1972 in Izmir, Turkey, spent his early years moving from Ankara to Istanbul, where he experienced the bulk of his upbringing. He completed his education at Robert College in Istanbul in 1990, then pursued further studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, obtaining a BS and MBA in Finance and Business Administration. Post-graduation, Murat returned to Istanbul to fulfill his military obligations, later beginning his professional journey at Microsoft in 2007, dedicating around five years to the company. It was during this period in Turkey that he married Esra Tanyeri. The couple relocated to Seattle, WA, in 2012 due to a work opportunity with Microsoft, subsequently working for companies like Amazon and Providence Health. With two children aged 14 and 12, the Tanyeri family is preparing for a move to Boston in the summer of 2023 for a role with a global tech firm. Murat shares his perspective on being a World Citizen, managing dual cultures, and how these experiences inform the way he raises his children.
