About Ulku

Born in Ankara in 1968, Ulku has had the majority of her schooling and life in this city. She has lived in Ankara for about 37 years. She decided to move with her husband who had a job at Microsoft at the time to Riyadh for work. Their time in Riyadh came to an end about five years later, and they moved to Bahrain. After spending some time in Bahrain and working there, Ulku and her family decided to move to Seattle in 2014. In Seattle, she has made many connections and worked on many projects within the Turkish community including Turks Without Borders and being a teacher at the American Turkish Association Of Washington. She sees herself going back and forth between Turkey and America, but has such a strong family and community here she is not sure if she would move back permanently.
