About Sedat

Sedat Uysal was born in Ankara in 1959. He grew up in Ankara and went to the University of Gazi to obtain his Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. He came to the United States in 1985 because of an invite he received from his uncle who lived in Seattle, Washington. Once he arrived he attended University of Washington’s experimental college for one year and in the meantime worked various jobs. Now, he has been self-employed for the past 33 years and is the owner of Cafe Paloma in Seattle. He participates as much as he can in Turkish-American events and speaks Turksih constantly within the community. He feels very lucky that he was able to live in and make a name for himself in such a great city like Seattle.
