What is your class all about?

This class consists of two main parts.  The first and longer part of the course is an introduction to number theory.  Students will develop their number sense through the study of number theory in order to prepare them for further success in both high school and college mathematics.  In particular, this class will focus on the properties of rings and fields.  Through our study of rings and fields, students will develop their abilities to find patterns in the ways that numbers behave.  This class focused upon 1) The Division Theorem and the Euclidean Algorithm, 2) rings and fields and relationships between them, and 3) some major theorems in fields (Bezout, Fermat, Euler).
