What is your class about?

My class seeks to bring a basic understanding of astronomical principles to the upward bound student. Through lecture, laboratories and field trips to the planetarium, telescopes and astronomy labs, the students in this course will get a flavor for what it is to be an astronomer.

Even more important, a student in my class will gain a familiarity with college style learning. 

By the end of the Summer, students will have a better idea for their place in the universe. Their knowledge of stars, planets, galaxies and cosmology will propel them to a fruitful college experience.
