Instructor: Michelle Badion

ballroom

Ballroom dancing is taught by Michelle Baudion. Students acquire social dance skills in Salsa / Bachata, Argentine Tango, and West Coast Swing while learning the intrinsic benefits of partner dance. They will build a vocabulary of rhythmical movement, social skills, and connection to different types of
music. They will study the culture and basic history of these popular dances, but will concentrate on West Coast Swing. Through dance, students experience the exhilarating challenge of using the mind body coordination as a way to connect to music, a partner and society. Attention is given to the focus and concentration required not only to train in dance movement but also to work in partnerships. All the students will have the experience of working as a team developing choreography to perform for the final event. There will also be an opportunity to go out dancing as a group and there will be guest artist from these dance
communities.
