College Prep 1 & 2 is a course is designed to help students develop research, critical writing, thinking, analysis and presentation skills. Students will research topics, summarize sources and organize information. To finalize this process, students will compile their findings into a finished product for presentation. Other skills students will acquire involve the basics of writing, revision, public speaking, MLA Citation and format. Students will also learn to manage academic workloads against deadlines. Basically all the ingredients required for college survival skills building.
Students also visit the UW Graduate Library to research and study the colleges they wish to enroll. In addition, students review basic essay writing and write their own essays for applications such as scholarships and college admission.
