Your dues mostly support the national office (and its extensive responsibilities), although AAUP-UW retains a small portion to support our local operations.<\/p>\n<p>There are\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaup.org\/AAUP\/involved\/benes\">benefits of membership:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Subscription to the journal, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaup.org\/AAUP\/pubsres\/academe\/\"><i>Academe<\/i><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Individual support for cases of violation of your rights as a faculty member<\/li>\n<li>Invitations to conferences, meetings, and other enriching activities<\/li>\n<li>Various insurances: professional liability, group life, long-term care, disability, etc, auto and home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"margin-right: 7;\"><strong>Joining is easy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 7;\">Most UW members choose payroll deduction. Participation in the webinars is generally limited to AAUP members and field staff, and you can now find recordings and materials from the webinars on the web.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Information on our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/online.aaup.org\/aaupssa\/ecmssamsganalytics.click_through?p_mail_id=E39630A13218555B1C9893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One Faculty<\/a>\u00a0campaign, which is designed to help collective bargaining and advocacy chapters or state conferences to make concrete gains in the areas of job security, compensation, and\/or governance inclusion for faculty with contingent appointments. It explains why a united faculty is a strong faculty and includes specific guidelines for bargaining key contract issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/online.aaup.org\/aaupssa\/ecmssamsganalytics.click_through?p_mail_id=E39630A13218555B1C9894\">Organizing Toolkit<\/a>\u00a0containing proven AAUP organizing practices and materials to help both new and established chapters organize to win.\u00a0The toolkit provides information about how contingent and tenure-track faculty can build and strengthen membership.
