Communication Resources

Communication resources provided here consist mainly of how-to documents, guides and web pages. These resources are created and maintained by many UW entities including Advancement Communications, Stewardship & Donor Recognition, UW Marketing, External Affairs, and other UW-affiliated groups.

Brand Guidelines
Contains the Advancement Messaging Platform, which will help you communicate more effectively with alumni, donors and potential donors. General UW Brand and Editorial Guidelines are also included to aid in creating consistent, on-brand communications.

Campus Partners
Links to a page detailing various University partners along with their contact information that may help you complete your communications project.

Case for Support
Provides resources for creating a Case for Support, including a Glossary of Terms and Case Expression Samples.

Contains general information such as a link to a Glossary of Commonly Used HTML and E-newsletter Terms in addition to more specific resources such as E-Communications Basics and Email Templates Best Practices.

Endowment Brochures
These brochures were created for individual units and are intended to be shared with prospective donors.

Fact Sheets
Holds several resources including links to Quick Facts and the UW Office of Research Statistics, as well as customizable fact sheet templates and lists of current and archived UW fact sheets.

Logos and Color Palettes
Includes the Advancement Signature Logo System, UW Foundation Logos and the UW Color Palette, which shows recommended, on-brand color builds for various media.

Messaging Documents
These documents provide messages and facts to help you educate others about the University.

Links to photo databases, photo release forms, Columns magazine submission guidelines and other photography resources.

Print Media
Lists a number of print media-related resources including Print Production Terminology, guidelines for creating print publications and the UW Color Palette.

Social Media
Provides General Guidelines for social media as well as more specific best practices for social media websites such as Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Contains a variety of useful templates, references, and DIY tools, such as the Advancement LetterheadPowerPoint templates, a DIY Email Signature and Planned Giving Ad templates.

Contains a web-specific color palette, links to an on-brand WordPress theme and UW WordPress Documentation.
