I joined the University of Washington Autism Center this year as Director of the APEX Program, and I\u2019m grateful to be part of a team that cares deeply about creating meaningful summer experiences for kids and staff alike. My work centers on neurodiversity-affirming practice and on making sure research translates into real, everyday strategies that actually support children in group settings.<\/p>\n

I earned my bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and my Master of Science in Education in Teaching Students with Disabilities from Brooklyn College (CUNY). I began my career as a special education teacher and IEP coordinator in New York City public high schools. Before joining UW, I served as Head of School at the Academy for Precision Learning and previously as their K\u201312 Academic Program Director. I\u2019ve also partnered with organizations including PROVAIL and Microsoft to support neurodivergent adults through inclusive hiring and workplace coaching.<\/p>\n

Both my professional path and my lived experience as a neurodivergent person within a neurodivergent family shape how I lead. I care deeply about dignity, access, and building environments where young people feel understood and capable. Outside of work, I love reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with my spouse and our son.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I graduated from the University of West Florida with my master in Applied Behavior Analysis. During my time in my masters program I learned about Organizational Behavior Management and immediately wanted to dive head first into learning more because I strongly believe being an effective supervisor is extremely important to the success of not only our clients but staff too. I have been a RBT for over 7 years so I\u2019ve taken what I\u2019ve learned from my amazing supervisors and used those skills to become an effective mentor and leader.<\/p>\n

During my free time I enjoy playing video games with my buddies, doodling\/painting, fishing, hiking, trying new foods\/ snacks, and playing with my corgi Jelly!<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
