She sees people from all walks of life across the lifespan from toddlerhood to later adulthood. Dr. Woods has knowledge regarding the latest research literature and regularly consults with other neurodiversity-affirming professionals. Dr. Woods has published research on autistic strengths, and she has provided training to hundreds of professionals on strength-based assessment and report writing. In addition, she spends much of her time doing direct clinical assessment, so she is familiar with the challenges of writing reports in a neurodiversity-affirming way while meeting real-world demands like opening doors to services and support in a timely manner. An IEE is an evaluation conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the school district responsible for the education of&nbsp;the student.&nbsp; While a request for an IEE is not required to be in writing, a written request is encouraged because it can serve as documentation of when the&nbsp;request was made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"su-accordion su-u-trim\"><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Read more about Independent Educational Evaluations<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p>When&nbsp;the request for an IEE is granted, the school district must provide&nbsp;the family&nbsp;with a list of names of possible examiners and provide the evaluation to&nbsp;the student&nbsp;at no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on IEEs please visit the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction website at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.k12.wa.us\/SpecialEd\/Families\/Evaluations.aspx\">http:\/\/www.k12.wa.us\/SpecialEd\/Families\/Evaluations.aspx<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IEEs at the UW Autism Center<\/strong><br>The UW Autism Center is currently able to offer behavior-related IEE evaluations such as functional behavior assessments (FBA) completed by a behavior analyst. Our clinicians are specially trained and possess the necessary skills, experience, education, and licenses or credentials to provide an IEE. The assessments will include several sessions (e.g. assessment, observation, records review, and interview), a written report, and a feedback session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please complete the&nbsp;<a
