{"id":2443,"date":"2016-01-20T15:07:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-20T20:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/uwautism\/?page_id=2443"},"modified":"2023-11-14T09:52:35","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T17:52:35","slug":"student-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/uwautism\/training-prev\/student-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Student Training<\/h1>\n<p>The UW Autism Center Student Training Program offers clinical training and supervisory experience to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in clinical psychology, school psychology, speech- language pathology, education, and related disciplines with the goal of preparing future professionals to provide direct service to or conduct research with children, adolescents, and adults with ASD. Training experiences are available to students at different levels of education, and may occur in either a research or clinical setting.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Practicum placements of nine to twelve months are offered to graduate students in <em style=\"font-weight: bold;\">clinical psychology<\/em>, <strong><em>school psychology, <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>social work <\/em><\/strong>under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.<\/li>\n<li>We are an approved <strong><em>b<\/em><em><strong>o<\/strong>ard certified behavior analyst (BCBA)<\/em><\/strong> practicum site for the UW College of Education ABA Master&#8217;s degree program (one year commitment).<\/li>\n<li>We are an approved speech language pathology (SLP) practicum site for the UW Speech and Hearing Sciences Master\u2019s degree program (one semester commitment).<\/li>\n<li>Students may take classes offered by faculty affiliated with the UW Autism Center.
