{"id":272,"date":"2015-05-21T12:18:47","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T16:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ross.uwautism.dev.myclocktower.com\/?page_id=272"},"modified":"2026-04-10T08:01:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T15:01:53","slug":"organizations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/uwautism\/resources\/organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please use your independent judgement when engaging any new professional or starting a new service.\u00a0 The UW Autism Center does not evaluate these resources, have specific knowledge of abilities of those listed, or necessarily agree with the information listed on website sources.<\/p>\n<h1>Organizations<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#advocacy\"><strong>Advocacy Groups<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#assessment\"><strong>Assessment Clinics<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#training\"><strong>Autism Training &amp; Research<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#intervention\"><strong>Intervention Services<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#international\"><strong>International Autism Resources<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"advocacy\"><\/a><strong>Advocacy Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aaspire.org\/\"><strong>AASPIRE<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education was started by academics and autistics who recognized the need to work together to develop and implement research studies that truly benefit the autistic community.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/autisticadvocacy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Autistic Self-Advocacy Network<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe Autistic Self Advocacy Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by and for autistic people.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.autism-society.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Autism Society of America<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nNational grassroots autism organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.autismsocietyofwa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Autism Society of Washington<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA chapter of Autism Society of America.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dshs.wa.gov\/ddd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Division of Developmental Disabilities, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAssists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to obtain services and support.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elunanetwork.org\/resources\/supporting-grieving-children-with-autism-spectrum-disorder\/\"><strong>Eluna<\/strong><\/a> (formerly The Moyer Foundation) has served thousands of grieving children and written the play-book on how to run a grief camp.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsautism.org\/\">National Council on Severe Autism<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThis group was started by parents to address the needs of severely impacted autistics and those with extreme behavioral challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/Squarepegs\/\">Square Pegs<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe Square Pegs Adult Autistic Meetup Group is a place for those of us who are on any part of the spectrum, diagnosed or self-diagnosed, to get to know one another and make new friends without having to explain our eccentricities.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/medicalhome.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington State Medical Home<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nResources and support from the Washington State Department of Health.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/withinreachwa.org\/our-programs\"><strong>WithinReach<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nFinding the right help is hard. WithinReach makes it easy.
