This page is meant to highlight the many accomplishments of neurodiverse individuals. These featured individuals represent only a small fraction of excellence within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not necessarily endorse&nbsp;<strong>all<\/strong>&nbsp;of the content on&nbsp;<strong>all<\/strong>&nbsp;of these websites, but we have found these biographies to be inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Stephen_Wiltshire.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6840\" width=\"262\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"\/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Stephen_Wiltshire.jpg 512w, \/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Stephen_Wiltshire-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Stephen Wiltshire<\/strong>&nbsp;is an artist who draws detailed cityscapes. He has a particular talent for drawing lifelike, accurate depictions of cities, skylines and street scenes sometimes after having only observed them briefly. He was awarded&nbsp;Member of the Order of the British Empire&nbsp;for services to the art world in 2006. Greta&#8217;s school climate strike <em>Fridays for Future<\/em> has reached international recognition, and her work has brought her to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, and the UN Climate Action Summit, among others. In 2019, Thunberg was featured in <em>Time<\/em> magazine&#8217;s 100 most influential people, and the youngest <em>Time<\/em> Person fo the Year. Thunberg gas been nominated for two consecutive Nobel Peace Prizes. Gutierrez<\/strong> is a Mexican animator, painter, writer &amp; director who, along with his wife and muse&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sandra_Equihua\" target=\"_blank\">Sandra Equihua<\/a>, created the multiple Annie &amp; Emmy Award winning animated television series&nbsp;<em>El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<strong>Nickelodeon<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Mexico City and raised in Tijuana, Gutierrez has completed various films, cartoons, illustrations and paintings exploring his love affair with Mexican pop and folk culture.&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jorge_Gutierrez_(animator)\">Jorge&#8217;s Wikipedia entry linked here<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Aoife-dooley.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6838\" width=\"261\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"\/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Aoife-dooley.jpg 500w, \/uwautism\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Aoife-dooley-187x300.jpg 187w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 261px) 100vw, 261px\" \/><figcaption>Aoife Dooley &#8211; Photography by Ruth Medjber<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Aoife Dooley<\/strong> is an award winning Illustrator, author and comedian from Dublin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aoife is best known for her <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/youronenikita\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Your One Nikita&#8217;<\/a>&nbsp; ( formally known as Dublin Hun ) Illustrations which chronicle the life of a 22 year old woman called Nikita, best friend Tanya and boyfriend Anto. She published her first book &#8216;How to be massive&#8217; October 2016 and her second in 2017 &#8216;How to deal with poxes on a daily basis&#8217; with Gill books. In 2018 she released the Your One Nikita <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/player\/series\/your-one-nikita\/SI0000004462?epguid=PL000001099\">animated tv series<\/a> on the RTE Player with season 2 coming soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aoife openly shares her experiences of being diagnosed as Autistic at the age of 27, neurodiversity and how a diagnosis helped her to truly understand herself. She was named by Diane Sawyer as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SIfQPZMD7b8&amp;feature=youtu.be\">\u201cPerson of the Week\u201d<\/a> on World News Tonight, and was profiled in Dr. Sanjay Gupta\u2019s series <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2013\/01\/17\/health\/wineman-autism\/index.html?hpt=he_t2\">&#8220;Human Factors: Overcoming Obstacles<\/a>&#8221; on CNN.\u00a0 She also made appearances on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/2080354442001\/miss-montana-shares-her-story\/#sp=show-clips\">Fox and Friends<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/GMA\/video\/miss-america-contestant-makes-history-18190105\">Good Morning America<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/entertainment\/2013\/01\/alexis-wiseman-miss-montana-first-autistic-miss-america-contestant\">ABC News<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/shine.yahoo.com\/video\/first-miss-america-contestant-autism-100000233.html\"> The Jeff Probst Show<\/a><\/em> and was interviewed online for the Today Show,<em> E!News, People, Time, USA Today<\/em>, and the <em>Huffington Post<\/em>. <em>Glamour<\/em> magazine featured Alexis in its April 2013 issue as the \u201cMost Popular Girl in America\u201d.\u00a0 Alexis was recently recognized as a titleholder who has had a significant impact on pageantry.
