Dr. Thamilarasu received her Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2009. Her research focus is in the field of wireless ad hoc and sensor networks with emphasis on network security and cross-layer optimizations. Her past research addressed the building of robust intrusion detection systems in wireless ad hoc and sensor networks using cross-layer optimizations to provide secure and reliable wireless networked systems. Her current research is mainly directed towards addressing security in biomedical wireless sensor networks, cloud computing, and vehicular networking.
