Adaptive & Interactive Library Intern

Support the creation of an inclusive, multisensory library designed for all children. The Adaptive and Interactive Library Internship invites students to help co-design and co-create adaptive children’s picture books and literacy tools that make reading accessible for diverse learners.
Interns may:
-
Collaborate on adaptive storybook design, adding communication boards, tactile and interactive elements, and embedded prompts that support language, literacy, and communication.
-
Research and recommend new children’s books for inclusion in the library.
-
Help design the physical reading nook and in-person library experience at the Environmental Education & Research Center.
-
Develop accompanying educational tools and resources that promote accessibility, inclusion, and engagement for all readers.
This opportunity is open to students from a wide range of disciplines who are interested in accessibility/inclusion, education, child development, literacy/reading, STEAM, or design. No specific prerequisites are required—just creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to collaborate.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the CoSEE Internship Program.
