Data Analyst Assistant
Washington West African Center (WAWAC)
The Washington West African Center (WAWAC) is seeking a detail-oriented and curious Data Analyst Assistant to join our growing team. This role provides critical support in organizing, managing, and interpreting data that guides the impact of our programs and services. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and in collaboration with department leads, the Data Analyst Assistant will help transform community feedback and service data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, analytical, and passionate about using data to inform social impact. You’ll assist in collecting data from various programs, cleaning and entering information, preparing reports, and supporting data visualization projects. Your work will ensure WAWAC continues to serve West African families effectively and responsively.
Key Responsibilities:
● Data Entry & Organization: Assist in collecting, cleaning, and maintaining databases from
program records, outreach events, and client interactions.
● Reporting Support: Help prepare internal and external reports by organizing data in clear
formats and creating basic charts and visuals as needed.
● Monitoring & Evaluation: Support efforts to measure program outcomes by tracking
attendance, services delivered, and community feedback.
● Collaboration: Work closely with program staff to understand the kind of data they need to
make decisions, and help them document their activities.
● Confidentiality: Handle sensitive community and client data with the highest standards of
privacy and discretion.
● Technology Use: Assist with data entry into spreadsheets, CRM systems, and online forms; help
identify ways to improve data collection efficiency.
● Event & Survey Support: Help conduct surveys or feedback forms during events and enter the
results into tracking systems.
● Additional Duties: Support the Executive Director or Data Manager in any other data-related
tasks as needed.
For this position, a student should possess the following skills:
● Analytical and detail-oriented thinking – to help track patterns and extract meaningful insights
from community service data.
● Technical proficiency with tools like Excel or Google Sheets – to organize, clean, and present
data efficiently and accurately.
● Confidentiality and professionalism – to handle sensitive community information with
discretion and care.
As a Data Analyst Assistant, your work helps measure and improve the reach and effectiveness of WAWAC’s community programs. By tracking what works and where gaps exist, you directly contribute to our mission of bridging the resource gap for West Africans in Washington. Your attention to detail and data support helps ensure that the needs of single mothers, elders, youth, and families are being met in culturally appropriate, timely, and impactful ways.
WAWAC is Monday-Friday usually 9am-5pm, After-school program Lynnwood (Wed/Fri 4:30pm-7:00pm), After-school program Federal Way (Tues/Fri 4:30pm-6:30pm). Additionally there are weekend events sometimes Saturdays which are optional for any UW students if they’re available.
The prime location for planning and implementation of all events shall be at the following address: Washington West African Center, 19203 36th Ave W SUITE 210, Lynnwood, WA 98036. However, where a certain program requires it, a more ideal location shall be sourced. Location There are opportunities both at the Lynwood hub as well as at a new after-school youth program in Renton.
