Project Goals
- The effect of communication and cognition on performance.
- The way communication helps and hinders team cognition and decision-making.
- The characteristics of members and leaders that contribute to communication effectiveness.
Student Outcomes
- Learn new methodologies for the analysis
- Develop knowledge about team processes in different contexts
- Be able to critically evaluate task work efficiencies
- Learn to communicate research findings and implications
Student Qualifications
- Looking for sophomores and juniors
- Good communications skills
- Desire to better understand organizational teams
- Some statistics background
- Able to commit 8-10 hrs/week for at least one quarter, preferably more
Student Responsibilities
- Conduct literature searches and summarize papers.
- Learn necessary data analysis techniques (may include R, SPSS, NetLogo).
- Create and present research posters and slide presentations.
- Participate in a discussion group with fellow R.A.s and the professor.3 years
