About WABS:

● WABS Vision and Impact Video

● WABS Participant Stories Video

Washington Alliance for Better Schools footprint encompasses over 300,000 students across the state and our reach is growing. As a nonprofit organization, our ability to tell the story of our work directly impacts our sustainability. We are a growing organization, committed to demonstrating our impact through transparent accountability of our resources. The next step in this process is to systemize the information we collect through our work and gather from our stakeholders. This internship works closely with our Operations team as we integrate a new process. It is an excellent opportunity to gain nonprofit management and program evaluation experience in the education sector.

Work description:

● Data Entry, Validation, and Cleaning: Enter and review the collected data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Identify and rectify errors or anomalies, ensuring the data is reliable and ready for analysis.

● Data Analysis Support: This may involve organizing data, performing descriptive statistics, or creating visualizations to help interpret the collected information.

● Report & Presentation Design: Create a presentation to share findings with the team or stakeholders.

● Collaborate with the staff to identify data entry needs and develop an efficient system using Monday.com.

● Accurately enter data into the designated systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

● Assist in organizing and categorizing data to enhance accessibility and usability.

● Perform quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of entered data.

● Maintain confidentiality and integrity of data throughout the data entry process.

● Provide regular progress updates and reports on activities to the supervisor.

Outcomes:

Within the term, (1) complete entry, validation, and cleaning of data to prepare it for transfer to the program management platform, Monday.com, and (2) collaborate with the operations team to develop a descriptive data analysis in presentation format.

Times:

This is a hybrid position, partly remote, and at our Shoreline office. Weekly schedule is flexible. We have the position flexibility to offer up to 100 hours.

Impact:

Data collection and analysis are critical needs for nonprofits to enable compelling storytelling about our work, demonstrate impact, support decision-making, enhance accountability, and attract the necessary resources for sustainability. By investing in data collection and management, nonprofits effectively communicate our mission, engage stakeholders, and work towards achieving our long-term goals.
