Graduate Research Assistant, Applied Physics Lab & Civil and Environmental Engineering Department
I am a PhD student in the Civil and Environmental Department and researcher for the Applied Physics Laboratory. I work with Morteza Derakhti and Michelle DiBenedetto on problems related to Fluid-Structure interactions. My focus is on the application of GPU-based CFD modeling for wave-object interactions. Some examples of this are Wave Energy Converters and ocean debris.
Previously, my academic journey began at Gonzaga University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I then spent a few years in Portland, OR designing quartz systems for the semiconductor industry. After a brief year hiatus traveling North America in an ambulance, I returned to University of Washington for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering.

Outside of wave modeling, I spend most of my time enjoying the outdoors. I love to ski, dive, backpack and biking around Seattle. I am always up for a cup of coffee with a potential future student or curious friend to be.
