In response to your vote, we are phasing out acceptance of the IELTS; <strong>IELTS with a test session date after November 1, 2016 will not be accepted. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We ask you to help us assist your prospective applicants during this transition period:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you mention the IELTS exam or English proficiency requirements on your departmental website, please add the following note: \u201cWe are phasing out usage of IELTS. IELTS with a test session date after November 1, 2016 will not be accepted.\u201d We have updated <a href=\"http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies-procedures\/graduate-school-memoranda\/memo-8-graduate-school-english-language-proficiency-requirements\/\">Memo 8<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies-procedures\/graduate-school-memoranda\/memo-15-conditions-of-appointment-for-tas-who-are-not-native-speakers-of-english\/\">Memo 15<\/a>\u00a0with this information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>IELTS has been removed as a test type from the <strong>\u201cReport English Proficiency Scores\u201d<\/strong> section of the <a href=\"http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/admissions\/apply-now\/\">online application<\/a> so you may be contacted by applicants who want to \u201cself-report\u201d an IELTS. Please let your applicants know they can still electronically report the official test score by following instructions in the <a href=\"http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/admissions\/understanding-the-application-process\/general-admissions-faqs\/\">FAQs<\/a> (<strong>Tests &gt; Will you accept my IELTS test?<\/strong>). The available test types in the <a href=\"http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/admissions\/apply-now\/\">online application<\/a> are TOEFL and TOEFL iBT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will continue to work with your applicants who are having difficulties sending their IELTS scores electronically to UW.
