Now he’s cancer-free, works for UW Environmental Health and Safety, and will be the latest featured guest in The Whole U Speaker Series. Halloween Costume Contest & Thriller Break

Celebrate Halloween by learning the moves from Thriller, Michael Jackson’s 1983 music video. There will be a group dance session and costume contest on Friday, October 31 at the IMA. You don’t need to be a member to join the fun. Enjoy 30-minutes of Thriller dancing, meet like-minded zombies, and reap the benefits of physical activity on your lunch break. Register here.

Free Program to Minimize Stress this Holiday Season

Stress Less – Do the holidays stress you out? Anticipating holiday lists, gifts, parties, and plans, all while juggling work and family—regardless of your family’s personal traditions, there is a lot going on through this time of super-charged expectations. This year, we invite you to do things differently by joining The Whole U’s Stress Less Holiday Challenge—an 8-week program with tips, seminars, activities, and workouts to keep you balanced. The goal is a happy, sane season!

  • Week 1: Starting on November 10, we’ll roll out our first topic: how meditation can help manage your stress.
  • Week 2: Exercise your way through stress
  • Week 3: Finding happiness in giving and the positive ripple-effect giving has for you and your family. Is there a new way to give your time over Thanksgiving?
  • Week 4: Decorating tips, low-cost gifts, and how to make your own cards.
  • Week 5: Help with how to prepare your holiday menu, with tips from executive chefs.
  • Week 6: Happy hosting and how to best manage overnight guests and over-excited children. Can you say deep breath?!
  • Week 7: We’ll take a pause to contemplate the importance of traditions.
  • Week 8: Resetting for the New Year and shaping our 2015 health goals.
