The New Leader Pathway covers all things a new UW Medicine leader must know, do, attend, plan for, and who to go to for what.<\/p>\n<h4>Why is the New Leader Pathway so important?<\/h4>\n<p>\u2022 It helps to ensure smooth onboarding.<br \/>\n\u2022 It invests in our new leaders from day one.<br \/>\n\u2022 It helps improve retention.<br \/>\n\u2022 This content saves everyone LOTS of time!<\/p>\n<h4>What topics are covered?<\/h4>\n<p>\u2022 UW Medicine Organizational Priorities<br \/>\n\u2022 Leader Expectations &amp; Competencies<br \/>\n\u2022 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)<br \/>\n\u2022 Key HR Contacts<br \/>\n\u2022 Workday<br \/>\n\u2022 Kronos<br \/>\n\u2022 Payroll<br \/>\n\u2022 Leader Presence<br \/>\n\u2022 One-on-ones &amp; Rounding<br \/>\n\u2022 Setting Team Goals &amp; Priorities<br \/>\n\u2022 Running Meetings<br \/>\n\u2022 Coaching<br \/>\n\u2022 Professional Development Options<br \/>\n\u2022 Performance Evaluations<br \/>\n\u2022 Annual Workforce Survey<br \/>\n\u2022 Corrective Action<br \/>\n\u2022 Resolving Conflict<br \/>\n\u2022 Hiring &amp; Onboarding<br \/>\n\u2022 Mentoring &amp; Developing<br \/>\n\u2022 Peer to Supervisor<br \/>\n\u2022 Compensation<br \/>\n\u2022 Complaint Resolution<\/p>\n<h4>Who will it be assigned to?<\/h4>\n<p>All new UW Medicine professional staff who have at least 1 direct report in Workday (whether the leader was hired externally or promoted from within) will be assigned the New Leader Pathway in Learning Hub.<\/p>\n<h4>When is it due?<\/h4>\n<p>3 months from assignment date.<\/p>\n<h4>How long does it take to complete?<\/h4>\n<p>Approximately 1 hour per week. The content lives on forever, so you can refer to it any time!<\/p>\n<h4>How will it be assigned?<\/h4>\n<p>New leaders and their manager will both receive an email from system@sumtotalsystems.com that contains their due date, instructions on where to find it in Learning Hub, tips to get the most out of this program, and more.<\/p>\n<h4>Expectations of participants:<\/h4>\n<p>1. Finish the program by the assigned due date.<br \/>\n2. Complete all surveys.<br \/>\n3. Apply the learning and share relevant tips, tools, and resources with your team, peer leaders, and your manager.<\/p>\n<h4>Expectations of managers who have a team member participating:<\/h4>\n<p>1. If you have a new leader joining your team, lookout for an email from system@sumtotalsystems.com that contains their due date, tips on how you as a manager can support them, and more.<br \/>\n2. Drive accountability and completion by protecting their time.<br \/>\n3. Make clear the importance of leader onboarding.<br \/>\n4. Encourage ongoing professional development and role-model it to your teams.<br \/>\n5. Show engagement by asking questions about what they&#8217;re learning and how they&#8217;re applying it.
