Flexible Design for Small Spaces
The abbreviated logo provides a simplified version of our branding for use in space-constrained environments like small merchandise or digital applications. When using the abbreviated UW Medicine logo, the tagline can still be included as text; however, it should not be locked up within the logo itself.

When to Use the Abbreviated Mark
Use this mark:
- In digital formats, when using the primary logo may lead to poor resolution, clutter or readability issues.
- In internal presentations or materials where audiences already recognize the UW Medicine name.
- On small-format materials such as pens or pins.
When Not to Use
Do not use the abbreviated mark:
- In formal external communications or as a primary brand identifier.
- In large digital formats where the primary logo is more appropriate.
- As a replacement for official branding in presentations or signage.
Design Standards
- Maintain proper clear space equal to the height of the “M” in the logo around all sides.
- Minimum size: 1 inch wide for print, 72px wide for digital.
- Aspect ratio: Do not stretch, crop or modify.
- Colors: UW Medicine Purple is the preferred color. In reverse, use white. If color print is not available, black is acceptable.
- The abbreviated logo should never be used as part of a sentence.
Clear space
Maintain clear space equal to the height of the “M” in “Medicine” around the entire logo.

Minimum size
