Instructors are family medicine residents and subspecialists, with two students per rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Care of hospitalized children as well as the care of newborns occurs in the Providence Alaska Children\u2019s Hospital. The pediatric floor has 32 beds, with 9 beds in the intensive care unit. Clinics are based out of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anhc.org\/\"><strong>Anchorage Neighborhood Health Clinic<\/strong><\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.providence.org\/alaska\/services\/children\/default.htm\"><strong>The Children\u2019s Hospital at Providence<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;as well as a variety of primary pediatric offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Housing<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a dedicated shared apartment available to students. The apartment is within walking distance of Providence Hospital Medical Center, and the University of Alaska Anchorage Campus. To confirm availability, contact <a href=\"mailto:cejstaff@uw.edu\">Ciera Stafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AK WWAMI housing at UAA maintains the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Arrival\/Check-In:&nbsp;<\/strong>Students may check-in<strong> after 3:00PM the Sunday prior to the start of their rotation.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Departure\/Check-Out:&nbsp;<\/strong>Students must check-out <strong>no later than 3:00PM<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Friday following testing.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prior to departure<\/strong>, students are responsible for washing linens and ensuring a clean apartment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>There is a no-guest policy, including spouses, and family.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check-in and check-out times are strictly enforced, as this time allows for any additional cleaning, inventory, and ongoing maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early arrivals and late departures can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis, however, require prior approval.
