Eligibility

Particularly suitable candidates would be students who:

  • May not have the necessary laboratory experience or who feel their research experience is insufficient
  • may have decided late in their undergraduate career to pursue a career in the biomedical field
  • may need additional upper-level coursework to strengthen their applications for graduate school
  • May profit from improved communication skills (reading, writing and presentations)
  • PREP encourages applications from underrepresented, underprivileged, and disabled students who recently graduated with a scientific baccalaureate degree (BA or BS) and who have a strong interest in pursuing a graduate degree in biomedical doctoral programs (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.)

Criteria for admission to the program are:

  • individuals who are US citizens or hold permanent resident status
  • Recent graduation date (<3 years)
  • Desire to pursue a biomedical Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. program
  • GPA of at least 3.0 (exceptions may be made for candidates with compelling personal history)
