The only source of fuel was gasoline from a breach in the tank. This was caused by the undercarriage of the van striking a protruding rod on a tow dolly in the road.  The breach was 3-4 in. long and approximately 1/2 in. wide (the diameter of the rod).  The breach was through the bottom of the tank; the rod also punctured a 3/4" diameter hole in the top of the tank.  No other systems were disturbed.
