Fire Suppression

Fire suppression systems, as of October 2005, are not common in passenger vehicle and light truck applications and are seldom a factor in passenger vehicle fire investigation. However, there are commercially available fire suppression systems used in some police vehicles, heavy trucks, and transit buses, so it would be useful for fire investigators to have familiarity with suppression systems at least in order to recognize them when present.
