Reinhart entered the university of Washington in 1897 but stayed for only a year, leaving to enlist as a corporal. He fought in Santa Ana, Guadaloupe, Pasig, Pateros, Taguig, Laguna Bay, Tay Tay, Morong, and San Pedro Macati.
