Chronology 1875 Leopold von Andrian is born in Berlin on May 9 1885-87 Attends the Jesuitenkollegium in Kalksburg, near Vienna 1888-90 At first educated by his private tutor Oskar Walzel, von Andrian continues his studies at the k.k. Gymnasium in Meran and the Schottengymnasium in Vienna 1895 Publishes Der Garten der Erkenntnis, passes the first Staatsexamen in law 1899 Completes his dissertation in law, starts working for the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1902-05 Works in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and St. Petersburg 1907-08 Works in Bucharest 1908-10 Moves to Athens, returns to Bucharest, and finally to Vienna 1911-14 Embassador in Warsaw 1914 Father dies in Nice 1919 Withdraws from public life, writes for several journals 1923 Marries Andrée Bourée 1931 Mother dies in Salzburg. 1938 Publishes Die Grundlehren des österreichischen Glaubens, moves to Nice 1940 Emigrates to Brazil 1945 Returns to Nice 1946 His wife dies in Nice 1949 Marries Margaret-Eadi Ramsay 1951 Leopold von Andrian dies on November 19 in Fribourg/Switzerland
